A View on Kutties Chutties

KUTTIES CHUTTIES - the name by itself would let us to know , it has got something to do with kids. Yes, its a Tamil television reality show on cute, outspoken & naughty children between the age of 3 and 8 that has struck the chord on Tamil audiences .

Sun TV Network's ultimate kids show, that provides an opportunity to bring out the best in today's children. This show encourages them with the most wacky platform filled with energy, naughtiness and lots & lots of fun. This is a stage where kids can be themselves, at the cost of our laughter.

The fascinating thing for me is, this show is the innocence of the kids, their naughtiness, their josh that makes me to forget so called "modernized" stressful world and makes me one among these kids. Those 30 minutes helps me to enter into a fancy land. This show has also created a bridge between me and my parents making them to rekindle my good old kiddish activities that I used to do during Krishna Jeyanthi and Diwali which i feel kids of present day have lost it on big scale. Special kudos should go to the anchor Mr.Imman who affectionately called as "Annachi"(meaning Brother)  for bringing the zeal from the kids and making them to feel it as their home and sharing things about their family, likes, so on and so forth. It is his knack of experience in dealing with the kids has made this show as one off the must-watch shows in weekend. The only thing I feel where Mr. Imman has to concentrate is avoiding certain topics of his conversation where it deals with kids' parents making children to mock at their parents( in an episode where he asks a kid to mock at his father as the kid said that his father used to get beatings from mother) and heroines (especially in one of the episodes where he asks a 4 year old to tell what he likes in Tamil cinema actress Anushka for the kid's reply that Anushka is his favorite actress ) Other than these few things, Mr. Imman is the Man of this show.

I see this show in two forms, the first one being the psychology of the present day children and latter with the eye on today's self proclaimed "educated" society. Many may doubt that this is just a children show,  where there is mean for viewing this show in Psychological n sociology aspects and what hampering it has in our society? Yes, there are. While many may believe in chaos theory then there is obvious believing that this show portrays the psychology of the children also. I see this show not only a show on kids but also a show on future buddies of our society and to bear fruits from our society the seed has to be well groomed. I think this is where this show portrays the bad picture of our society.

First I come for my psychological point, it is known from the show that 5 year old knows what is android, iPad ,EPL and even satellites. But in some cases, these children witness to watch the lack of brotherhood feelings and family affection. In one particular show a girl was asked about her grandparents for which the innocent kid replied "my parents wont keep them in our home." Though it is something related with the attitude of today's parents ,these kind of acts make children aloof as most of parents are working class and it is scientifically proved that kids brought up with family atmosphere are the one who develop a good rapport with society. In another show a boy was asked his play thing for which his answers were everything close to gun, machines, devastation and death - which pictures the violence surrounding them and its high responsibility of parents to groom them properly and socially these kids are very much behind in our culture and tradition which by learning them would make them a better one in society.

In the recent Independence day special episode a girl was not able to identify Bharathiyar and Nethaji Subash Chandra Bose where she identified Aamir Khan and Vijay most paining aspect was their parents were proud of it and laughing! that their kids were able to identify cine stars and feel themselves that their kids are updated to recent trends. And many kids were not taught about our epics irrespective of religion they were not able to answer anything about Krishna, Jesus or Allah. It is very much acting as an alarming bell to everyone of us to bring our grooming buds into a prosperous beautiful flowers.

Finally hope I made readers to think that there are a plenty to view in depth of an 18 minute (excluding ads) TV show than actually it is. I urge everyone not to miss this show as it may build a bridge between your family as it did in the case of mine and so.
