Sexuality Education

Sexuality Education is very important and crucial always but very much needed at the present age. As the world is becoming more technology-based and internet-based, we tend to think that we are more aware of things and knowledgeable than our previous generations, which is completely wrong.  I feel "access to information alone will not make someone aware".  Sexuality is one such topic, we cannot say the present-day adults are knowledgeable or even aware just because they have a multitude of information source at their click on the finger.

(a+b)^2 is a very simple formula that all of us can recollect even now as you see that expression, but not many know how to use them effectively. We learn or rather taught in school things that we don't use or don't know how to use. Sexuality or Sex Education is very much necessary to better understand our body and as many think it is not just about SEX.

UNESCO, in 2018 has published a Technical Guidance on Sexuality Education and stress the importance of quality Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE). Quoting the definition as stated by them here

Comprehensive sexuality education is a curriculum-based process of teaching and learning about the cognitive, emotional, physical and social aspects of sexuality. It aims to equip children and young people with knowledge, skills, attitudes and values that will empower them to realize their health, well-being and dignity; develop respectful social and sexual relationships; consider how their choices affect their own well-being and that of others; and understand and ensure the protection of their rights throughout their lives.

Here I am going to share my take on Sexuality Education with thoughts, learning and experiences from different people through series called "SexEd with Ram".
