Equality for women - still a dream!

                 We live in the 21st century where women have scaled the Mt.Everest, visited space, led nations and thus have  excelled in all walks of life. The so called achievements are just a  handful of women blessed with the opportunity or achieved it by their determined efforts. Now the question arises as to why only a minority of women have been able to prove their worth?.the  answer is the prejudice women have to face even today. In the present day scenario the inequality existing between the sexes is so well disguised that the reality is not revealed. There are umpteen examples in our society where women are severely ill treated and are subjected to injustice. The alarming rates of female foeticide, honor killings, rape ,eve teasing are all remainders of the inhuman trafficking of women .   Even in the corporate world there are several instances where men are preferred to women and they also are overlooked during appraisals  and the list of oppression is never ending.Women are given reservations, right to vote and  to education but all these have  led to the  upliftment of women only to a certain extent and the  situation keeps  getting worse.Even in the highest strata of society women are expected to stay under the hood and hence forced to abandon their hopes and aspirations. Thus Women of the current generation need to be empowered and their ambitions must be fueled, thereby nurturing a healthy balance and equality between the genders rather than exploiting and overlooking the subdued sex.We cannot claim to belong to a progressive society unless all prejudices  on the basis of sex and all other differences are eradicated. And hence lets all join hands and work towards a world where all such injustice will be history!

A VERY FINE ONE ABOUT THE CURRENT SCENARIO
EACH AND EVERY GIRL SHOULD GET THROUGH THIS BUT LOT OF STEPS SHOULD BE TAKEN TO PULL OUT WOMEN FROM HER MARKED PLACE "KITCHEN"
LETS NOT JUST TRY RATHER IMPLEMENT IT .

My comment, quite different from the previous ones,
@Author,
Yeah, as you started, women have conquered the Everest and almost every single thing.
You say that is because of determined effort of the woman, true. But did the man who reached the Everest without any efforts, with his hands swinging in air? Not really.

It is true that women power was suppressed some time back, not now. And, I believe, it is wrong to compare a man with woman. This is because, women's power is of a, say, different genre from that of men's. Also I believe, women are blessed with a great power 1000 times more than a man is blessed with. A woman's power is her tenderness. Her softness. Her patience. Her tolerance. Patience and tolerance don't imply weakness. It in fact, it implies immense power.

And today's world is somehow mesmerised by the brutal strength of a man. Man's brutality is petty and trivial. It is no strength. The courage an average woman has is no where in comparison to what an average man has. And I believe, female is killed as an infant, just because man is afraid of her power, once she grows up.

The sad part is that a woman just doesn't realize her true strength. They are yearning to do what men do. But a woman's strength is much greater. To put in simpler words, a woman is like Sachin Tendulkar in cricket! But imagine, if Sachin is asked to sing a song in a local school level music competition, and he ultimately loses. Does it mean he is dumb. And how silly if it be, if Sachin forgets about cricket and tries to be a better singer! The same is happening with women.

A woman is a powerful, soft tender being. We owe her a lot of respect.

To end, These thoughts are hardly mine. Most of them are Gandhiji's!!! These words are as old as Gandhiji's time!!!

Things are unique genetically, physiologically. It is like that, by nature. Stop comparing genders.
One more thing, even if there is a shortcomming, it is impossible to rectify it over night. Need not to be too ambitious, the human population is too large!
While I completely go with what sriram said, I am willing to join hands with the author to bring up a change,a gradual-steady change. Promise!

@aki its really true!women must come out and show her real talent:)
@sriram-firstly let me remind u that men have scaled the mt.everest and all overcoming many hurdles but a woman with the same achievement has get over even more bitter and harder hurdles.and secondly my friend women are not yearin to be like men,as ur comment or rather gandijis comments says that the 'delicate'creature women is powerful and strong so we dont want to be"be like men" but rather bring out the talents that we too have and achieve ambitions that each women has..just because we are a 'soft tender being' does that mean we do not have that right?
@armuga thank u buddy!sure wel join hands and bring about a society where we have gender balance:)
