Representing Alumni - Annual Day of San Jose - 2008

Respected Chief Guest of the Day Sri. R. Kaliannan, Inspector of Matriculation Schools, Rev. Fr. Santhosh, Sri. Nowrattmal, Rev. Sr. Adelaide, Rev. Sr. Principal, other dignitaries on the dais, teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and my dear student friends. Good Evening to all of you.

By way of an introduction, I am Ramaguru who passed out of this school in 2007. I am extremely grateful to the management of the school for having chosen me to represent the alumni of the school. I feel humbled and at the same time proud and honored, Thank you very much.

When my friends and I joined college for further studies, we were very pleasantly surprised. It was only then that I fully realized that our school not only taught us our subjects but more importantly taught us about life. There was a clear demarcation between the attitude that we displayed as compared to the students from most other schools. If you look at it. A thorough covering of syllabus is "Sappa Matter". But teaching us, how to handle life with all its ups and downs is not very easy. It is here that our school has really excelled in.

Successful people are problem solvers. When we were in school, we were given many opportunities as I am sure you are today to display leadership and team work. Even this wonderful stage and campus decoration is I am sure the work of the students with the teachers only playing roles as guides. This development of personality is one of the most useful assets that all of us possess.

I have fond remembrances of Agna Sr. and other teachers telling us to speak in English. Many a time we did not listen. However, even then we find that our communicative skills are far better than students from similar schools such as ours.

Even when we come to subjects we are subjected to minimum spoon feeding. This has helped us a great deal in coping with subjects even if we find the teaching methods unsatisfactory.

For all these things I, on behalf of my fellow alumni thank the school from the bottom of our hearts. I am sure that when you join other institutions of higher learning, you too will realize, the benefits that this school has given you.

A Sanjoseian is a self-reliant and confident person who knows that he may commit mistakes but still boldly faces situations. Before I close, let me on behalf of alumni of the school wish all the tenth and twelfth students all the very best in their soon to be held public examinations.

I once again thank our Sr. Principal Mary Deena and the management for giving me this great opportunity to be on this stage. Today one more dream of mine has come true. Thank you all very much.
